Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, household details, shopping data, contacts, budget entries, uploaded files, and any notes or records you choose to store in the app.
How we use information
We use your information to operate the service, authenticate users, secure family data, store uploaded documents, improve app functionality, and support the features you choose to use.
Storage and security
We use modern authentication, access controls, and tenant isolation to protect family data. All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your information.
Health data
The Health feature allows you to store medical records, appointments, vaccinations, prescriptions, lab results, and related documents for members of your family.
- Health records are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS).
- Health data is never shared with third parties, used for advertising, or analyzed for purposes other than operating the feature you chose to use.
- RunMyFam is not a HIPAA covered entity and this is not a medical records management system. Do not use it as a replacement for professional medical care or clinical records systems.
- Family admins may export all health records as a JSON file or permanently delete all health records from Settings at any time.
- All changes to health records are logged in an append-only audit log visible to family admins in Settings.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
RunMyFam allows family account holders to store personal information about their children, including names, dates of birth, chores, school documents, and related data. This section describes how we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- RunMyFam is directed to parents and family organizers, not to children. Children do not create accounts or directly provide information to the service.
- Before storing any child data, the family account holder (parent or legal guardian) provides explicit acknowledgment that they are the parent or guardian of the children being added and that they consent to that data being stored on behalf of their family.
- We collect only the information necessary to support the features you choose to use (e.g., name and date of birth to track a child, school documents to organize records). We do not collect information about children beyond what you directly provide.
- Children's data is never shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising or profiling.
- As a parent or guardian, you have the right to review, export, or permanently delete your child's data at any time. Use the Kids page to delete an individual child's profile, or export all children's data from the Children's Data section in Settings.
- All changes to children's data are recorded in an append-only audit log accessible to family admins in Settings.
